Victoria Bryant State Park is a state park located in Crawfordville, Georgia. The park was named for the former queen of England, Queen Victoria (reigned 1837-1901), who visited Georgia during her 1886 trip to the United States and whose name is attached to the nearby city of Windsor, Georgia. It is one of two parks that make up the Windsor Forest State Park complex. The other park being Windsor Mountain State Park.
The park’s main feature is its 2,000 acres (809ha) of forested mountains with an average elevation of 1,300 feet (396m). This includes Pinnacle Mountain which has an elevation of 640 feet (195m). The park also features several waterfalls, including Lower Falls on Mill Creek, which drops over a cliff face of 400 feet (120m) into a gorge below the dam at the head of the falls. Other notable attractions include Lake Burton, which offers boating options; the historic Okefenokee Swamp Trail, part of the Southeastern Greenway; and the ruins of Fort Yargo, a 19th century fort near the present site of the park visitor center.
The park contains twelve miles (19km) of trails open year round to hiking and mountain biking, as well as seven miles (11km) of horse riding trails. There are facilities for camping, picnic tables, playgrounds, swimming areas, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, and a nature trail. The park is also home to the annual Windsor Festival held annually in October. In addition, there is a campground within the park for tent or RV camping.
To help fund a backlog of deferred maintenance and park improvements, the state implemented an entrance fee for this park. The fees, charged per vehicle, start at $10 per day for a single-day or $8 for residents with an Atlanta residency permit or Georgia license plate. Fees are waived for honorably discharged veterans and Georgia residents age 62 & older and their spouses. Passes good for three days or a week are also available; annual passes good at all 22 state parks charging fees are offered at a cost of $75 for out-of-state visitors or $60 for Georgia residents.
