Before we dive into the guide, it is important to ask these three questions when considering buying a holster for defensive purposes. If you can answer "no," then you should definitely consider a different type of holster.
Is the trigger fully covered?
Is the firearm properly retained in the holster?
Can I draw my firearm with confidence from this holster?
These three rules will help you to make an informed decision about the best rig for your carry set-up. Foxx Holsters has all the qualities you are looking for.
Your holster is the most important decision if you carry it concealed every day. A good holster should be able to hold the pistol well, draw the firearm easily, slide on the body well, conceal the gun well, distribute weight well, and be comfortable. A comfortable holster is essential for a good defensive pistol. If it's not, consider getting a smaller, stronger pistol or not having any at all. A good holster is worth its weight in gold. They should be comfortable enough for years of standing, crawling, and running.
As each state improves its laws to protect our rights, both mainstream concealed carry and IWB have made significant strides. Technology has also advanced. Modern hybrid designs have a leather backing for comfort and support, Kydex pockets to keep the pistol safe, and wide belt clips that distribute the weight and stabilize the gun. Crossbreed loved this design, and other manufacturers soon copied it. With a flexible, flexible, and wide backing, larger pistols can be easily carried. Kydex is strong, durable, and can be reholstered as leather. Positive retention ensures that the pistol stays in place during any activity. It is very thin in design. The gun is covered by a thin layer of leather, and the waistband is covered with a thin layer of Kydex. The clips are placed far apart so that the weight is evenly distributed across the belt. This helps to prevent sagging and shifting. The clips can also tighten as you tighten the belt. The clips can be found on either side of the Kydex shell in most designs. This reduces bulk around the pistol. These holsters are heavy and cumbersome. Sometimes they can take some time to put on and takedown. They require pants that are larger than normal and a strong belt.
This is the Foxx hybrid. The Kydex shell can be securely riveted and is available in many colors. They cannot be interchanged or re-used like the MTAC. The leather backing is thick, soft, and has two sides. One side faces the pistol while the other faces the body in either tan or tan cowhide. A few embossed designs are available. You can also use the optional black velvet comfort pads as a skin protector. Metal is used for standard clips. You can also use J-hooks or Velcro low-profile hooks. To allow for adjustment, all are secured with countersunk nuts or screws. Five mounting holes are provided for cant and height adjustment. The shell is able to hold a good amount of cant, and the clips were included in the center holes. These clips allow the shell's mouth and waist to be elevated above your waistband. The top edge protects your side from the slide and sights.
It's similar to crossbreeds using "combat cuts," but there is no leather. The pistol's grip is shielded from the body, and sweat is prevented. The Kydex shell protects the pistol's grip from the body but gives you the freedom to move the sight in front. The holster snaps in quickly and out quickly, without slowing down the draw. The holster draws easily and does not snag the body. It could hold a full-size G20. Even though you might feel lighter with smaller guns, it will not make you feel bulkier or more comfortable. It will almost disappear if your shirt isn't tucked in. Tucking and thin shirts can mask some motions. If your holster isn't properly tucked in, the clips could also reveal it. Velcro covert clip could help solve this problem. If a shirt isn't properly tied, it can be almost impossible to conceal.
The Little Foxx hybrid was a newer design. The clip is one inch smaller than other hybrids. Flat leather backing, no comfort pads or clip options, same riveted Kydexshell, and one clip that attaches to flat nuts in the raised portion of the shell. Although the rough leather can be worn under a shirt, it is less comfortable than the smoother one. It is very well made. To adjust the cant, you can rotate the clip. The clip will lock in place once the screws are tightened. There is sufficient clearance between the slide & hardware to prevent scratches. The clip is approximately 1/2" higher than the hybrid and does not have a depth adjustment. To lower the clip further, you can take the clip out and attach the holster. It's easy to attach and take off, and it stays put. This design is not as comfortable and stable as the hybrid, but it does work well enough. The retention is not as tight as the hybrid's, but the Kydex around hardware is more bent. It's still sufficient and tightens with your belt, just like the larger hybrid. The soft backing can adjust to different thicknesses. Because the slide and trigger guard have identical shapes, they can be held in place with sufficient tension. Compact pistols work better because they have less room to distribute heavy guns' weight. It can be used with XDs, and it is easy to transport with a full-sized G20.
