Buyer's Guide

Choosing a Hatchet Holster

A Hatchet Holster is a short (usually less than an inch long) accessory that is designed to be carried in the front pocket of a pants or jeans. Some Hatchet holsters are worn on the belt, others are made as a part of the jacket's or pants lining. This type of holster is used by many people and is a popular choice for concealed carry. Although there are some concerns about safety with an Hatchet holster, it has been found to be a safe enough choice for many people.

A normal everyday pants or jeans holster is a simple belt pouch that can be attached to a pants belt. It is usually held together by a Velcro strap or buckle. This type of holster is very convenient because it can be worn on any belt. Many people choose to wear their Hatchet holster with their pants. The attached holster makes it easy to put on a belt, and also prevents your pants from getting too loose while you are wearing the holster.

This type of holster is great for trips and outings. If you are going to be away from home for an extended period of time, then a Hatchet holster is an excellent choice. When you are away from your home, it is important to have your handgun close at hand. The Hatchet can be easily attached to your belt. Once you have it attached, the holster will keep your handgun securely attached until you are ready to use it.

Many Hatchet holsters are equipped with an attached clip. These clips can usually be taken out with the belt when you are finished. They make a good attachment for the Hatchet itself, or for an MRE (meal replacement) bag. The clips can usually be locked using a special key. These are not often taken out, because they can damage the firearm.

The majority of Hatchet attachments are made from strong, lightweight material. This allows them to be comfortable to carry even in the harshest of climates. Some of them are made to work with belt loops. This makes them more secure, and more comfortable to wear.

It is important to note that some models will not work with some belt loops. This is because of the way the belt is positioned. The attachment must be affixed to the belt through the loops. In some models, this is done using Velcro. The other method is through buckle clamps.

You want to ensure that you have a heavy duty belt loop. It should be wide enough to accommodate the Hatchet itself, and plenty of room for your canteen items. It is a good idea to take the time to find out exactly what the specifications are for each type of holster before buying. If you don't know what they are, then ask someone who does.

Choose your attachment design wisely. Think about what you will be using the holster for. If you are only going to be carrying the knife in the morning, a small light weight model might be best. However, if you plan on going to a shooting range or outdoor event, you will probably want to purchase something a bit sturdier.

You also need to decide how you will fasten the Hatchet holster to your belt. Some models are attached through the belt loop, others through the buckle, and still others with a hook & loop fastener. Before you choose any attachment, be sure that you check and see if the model you choose will work with the belt you already own.

The final thing to consider is how often you plan to use your Hatchet holster. Will it just be used once, or several times a month? If it is only going to be used one or two times, then it doesn't matter as much which attachment you select. If you are looking for a more permanent solution, then you will want to make sure that you purchase an attachment that is strong enough to handle multiple uses.

As a final thought, be sure to always carry your hatchet with you. Never carry it in your pocket, as the weight and length of the blade could cause it to become snagged on an object during your day-to-day activities. Always have it on your belt when you are working.
