Review of Nightforce Spotting Scope
Nightforce spotting scopes are a great investment for those who need to engage in military or police training at night. The reason is that these scopes allow for the greatest effectiveness and accuracy possible for such training. That's because the reticule of the reticule is placed at a much higher altitude than the distance from the lens itself. This means that the whole area that you are looking through will be illuminated more brightly, which will make seeing things that you are training easier than ever before.
There are two main types of nightforce spotting scopes that you can buy. One is the gas-powered external model, which features a large center focus ring for pinpointing small targets like cans and bottles. This makes the unit more suited for larger scenarios, where a clearer photo is a necessity. It is also protected by a durable Ruggedized Body & Scopes lock, which provides maximum locking and protection. All of these features make the internal model a far more practical choice.
When choosing between models, it is important to look at how they are powered. Both models use the same eye relief, and both also feature a removable/extendable tripod. The tripod is attached to the front of the scope in the same way as any other scope. Some models have a quick-release mechanism, which allows the scope to be quickly and easily removed from the rifle's carry case. The quick-release mechanism does mean that you will need to spend some time getting the scope to the right place, however.
One feature that many owners of nightforce spotting scopes will appreciate is the variable power output. There are several different output configurations that can be chosen, depending on what you need. The low-power output is suitable for people who don't use heavy magnification, while the high-power output is better for seeing in dark places or with less light transmission. The Ts-82 has the lowest power output, while the M1A has a higher output and a higher distance than the Ts-82. The M1A, however, has a shorter range than the Ts-82 at all distances.
Nightforce has not compromised on durability and reliability for their scopes either. The scopes feature an aluminum and magnesium alloy frame, which makes for strong and durable construction. The sights also feature a sturdy rubber grip that provides firm support. The adjustable iron rings on the back of the scopes allow for different eye heights and conditions. This is a great feature for keeping both your eyes and hands comfortable during long viewing sessions.
Nightforce has also designed its own reticles for its spotting scopes. Each reticle has a unique design that is designed to work well with specific scopes. Nightforce's newest model, the Ts-82, offers many improvements over its older sibling, the Ts-80 HD. One of these is its hydrophobic coating, which makes it more resistant to moisture. The hydrophobic coating helps to inhibit the growth of bacteria and mold, which is common in damp conditions. This feature along with the two-degree diamond pattern allows the scope to work well even in conditions where other scopes would easily fail. The Hydrophobic Coating also offers night vision capabilities, something that most other spotting scopes do not have.
