Buyer's Guide: Rifle Bag

What To Look For In A Rifle Bag

If you own a rifle, then you are probably aware of the importance of keeping it safe. A quality rifle bag ensures that your precious weapon is kept safe from damage and will keep it safe from children or worse. Rifles are very easy to lose because they can be easily held by hands that are not familiar with how to hold them. Even the smallest child can accidentally wound a rifle. A rifle bag is designed to hold your rifle securely and protect it from falling on the ground while also making it much easier for you to access it.

There are many different styles and colors of rifle cases. Some of them are more stylish than others. There are nylon rifle cases, polyurethane rifle cases, bulletproof rifle cases, hard case rifles and more. The choice is up to you to decide which style of case would work best for your needs. The nylon types of rifle cases are usually the least expensive and most commonly used.

Soft Rifle Bags - These are the most common. These are typically made out of soft fabric material with strong stitching. They are very versatile because they can be used over for different guns. Because they are soft, they are also easy to clean. You can toss out the gun when it gets dirty or completely clean it and use it again.

Multi Purpose Rifle Bags - These carry both your ammo and other accessories like scopes and other guns. They are also the heaviest type of rifle bag, but are perfect for long distance shooting. They offer extra storage space and can be carried on your belt. Because they are huge, they are also usually quite expensive. They are used mainly for shooting magazines and ammunition.

Exterior Rifle Bags - These are the least expensive. They come in a variety of styles. Like the soft rifle bags, they can be used over again, or be stashed in a closet. The exteriors can be zipped or hooked for quick access. Most have large zippers to prevent collapsing from weight.

Other Accessories - Other accessory pouches can be included with your gun bags. These would include accessory holsters and carrying cases. Many times, these are required by law. If you are carrying ammunition in your bag, you will need a carrying case. If you plan on storing your gun overnight, you can get a soft sleeping bag that will keep it warm and dry while keeping your magazines, ammo, and other gear organized.

Choosing a rifle case or other accessory bag depends on several factors. One of the most important factors is whether you plan on using your new accessory during your shooting sessions, or if you are just going to be storing it and not using it. If you plan on using your new accessory, you want one with a large capacity. Some of the best products have a large capacity that can store many rounds of ammunition, aside from the rifle. If you are just going to be storing your gun, you may get one with a small capacity that is enough for common ammo, like BB's.

If you are looking for the best product, you can find them in two different types of material: nylon and heavy duty 600d materials. Nylon is usually stronger and more durable. It can also be cleaned by hand or by using a cleaning brush. Heavy duty 600d material usually has a nylon mesh interior, and is very durable and long lasting.

When you are looking for a bag, you need to know what kind of use it will get. You should only buy a bag that will hold large magazines, ammunition, and any small gear you plan to carry on your person. Magazines usually take up a lot of space, and small gear takes up even more space, and you don't want your rifle laying around in your bag taking up space, or on your belt taking up space. A good example of this would be if you have a laser target, optics, laser borescope, etc.

For those who own one or two handguns, they should always carry their firearm in a gun holster when traveling. Holsters usually fit over the shoulder and either clip or hook onto the belt. This makes it easy to access your gun, and is better than carrying it in your shoulder holster. However, if you plan on carrying your handgun with a shotgun, it is best to use a shotgun clip instead of a shoulder holster. You should also make sure that whatever bag you decide to use has enough room to hold all of your small guns (handgun, rifle, pistol, etc.)

If you are going to purchase a new rifle, pistol, or handgun, you need to know which manufacturer makes the item. Some brands such as Smith & Wesson, Remington, Rugged Gear, and other popular brands, are well known, and generally carry a long gun bag designed specifically for their brand. Other brands such as Federal Firearms can also create a quality of product, but there are certain types of ammunition and magazines that cannot be used with Remanufactured products, such as hollow-point rounds. Other manufacturers such as Black Rain can also produce a quality product, but the price may be a little bit higher. These are just some of the brands you can find to create a quality of product, so decide on which manufacturer you are most comfortable with before you decide to buy your gun bag.
