Buyer's Guide

Choosing the Right Smart Carry Holster

Choosing a smart carry holster is very important for those who want to carry their handgun in style. Holster style is the main determining factor to consider when choosing a concealed carry holster for your gun. There are generally three main holsters to select from, each with its own specific purpose. The key is picking one that meets your specific needs.

The first main type of holster is the deep concealment style. This design features a thick, padded belt that runs up the leg and across the backside of the leg. The belt comes down about an inch from the ankle and then tightens into a buckle. It is often worn with black pants or khakis. This is great for those who prefer to wear darker colors because it will not show up as a belt.

Another great deep concealment style holster is the pleated slacks holster. These come in different styles, such as flat fronted, high cut, low cut and dress slacks. Pleated slacks allow the wearer to wear his or her white shirt just like they would a pair of black jeans. In addition, these types of holsters are most commonly worn with a button-down collar rather than a belt.

The third main style of smartcarry holster is the deep concealment vest. These vests come in a variety of materials, such as cotton drill, nylon and spandex. Some have front pockets and are worn with long pants while others are designed to work with shorter pants. This is perfect for those who are not afraid of being exposed because they can wear their shirt without exposing any portion of their body.

A fourth popular type of holster is the waistband style. This type of holster works great with khakis or other lighter colored clothing. It does not matter what type of slacks you are wearing, waistbands will work for you. Some people prefer to wear belts because it makes them appear bulkier. If you are not concerned about your appearance, then this could be the perfect fit for you. However, you should make sure that the belt does not add too much extra weight and bulk to your frame.

The fifth option available for a smart holster is the cross body type. These holsters attach to your waist or hips. Unlike the previous options, this type of holster is made out of more durable materials, such as leather. Although leather is more durable, you must be careful when putting your gun in this type of holster. If your gun is too heavy, it can be extremely difficult to get it out.

One of the best ways to find the right type of holster is to determine what your needs are before shopping. If you only need the gun to be able to carry it in, you can choose a simple belt loop or thin paddle. If you plan on wearing your pants with your gun and planning to do a lot of walking, you may want to consider belt loops. Belt loops are generally thinner and less durable than belt loops, but they are usually more comfortable and easier to put on and take off.

If you want the most comfortable choice, then you may want to consider going with the thin paddle or belt loops. Both of these types of holsters attach to your waist or hips with no screws, so you will not have to worry about any screws coming loose. Another nice feature about these types of holsters is that they are typically adjustable, which allows you to adjust how tight they are on your belt. With all of the different types of holsters available, it is important that you take some time to consider what you are looking for.
