Buyer's Guide

A Review of the Sword holster

Here's a great little Leather and Sword Holster. This Double Sword Holster allows you to carry two, count 'em, two swords at the same time! That's double the sword carrying action. It also is designed out of a soft faux leather material, and it also has adjustable shoulder straps that conveniently fit around your shoulder blades.

On the back it features two separate blade holsters. One for each sword. You can quickly draw or drop the sword by pushing down on the metal outer edge of the second. Very convenient.

The leather is very thin. The leather stretches when you put pressure on it. So when you pull the leather tight it stays where you put the pressure on. That way it stays in place and doesn't move. It also means the knives will be much easier to manage as there is no worry about them sliding around. Just remove them and you're ready to go.

There is also a pouch located under the blade. This pouch functions like a flap which can be closed. When you open it the blades are accessible. Great for storing in drawers or in a pouch for quick access.

I like the pouch. It's easy to use and does its job. But the leather is a little thin. After a few months it starts to stretch a little and can be a little slippery. It could also become hot in the summer and become uncomfortable to wear.

I have a special attachment that goes with my Leatherman. I use this attachment almost exclusively. It makes it very easy to quickly get into the leather and close the pouch. It's great for when I need to grab the sword very quickly.

The blade is a traditional bladed rectangle. The only difference is it is coated in a special black paint to make it look authentic. It can easily be modified by adding rings to either side or creating a clip for it. The only draw back I can think of is you can't wear it when you have an open-closed bladed knife. I suppose if you just carry it in your back pocket you won't get any of that.

The leather is fairly thin. It is also fairly easy to cut through. My only real complaint is that after a couple of months it starts to really stretch out a bit. I guess the durability of the material depends on the type of use you get out of it. If you constantly use it for activities other than hunting, the durability will last quite a bit longer.

I do recommend getting an extension that goes around the blade about an inch above the screws that hold the blade in place. This allows you to put the blade up and down to make sure it doesn't get caught up in the sand or kicked during a combative activity. It makes opening and closing the pouch much easier.

The main thing I like about the blade attachment is it attaches directly to the handle rather than having to screw it on like many other blade attachments do. You simply loop it through the handle and attach the blade. To detach it, all you have to do is pull the handle out. Very simple!

Another nice feature I like about the sword holster is how it attaches to the weapon. I have found that it is very secure and does not move around while you are carrying it. This is good because there are far too many people that make the mistake of trying to fight with an off hand weapon without a holster.

One thing that I would like to point out is the quality of the blade. My first two knives were made by Spyderco but I eventually decided to purchase a GEC (Great Eastern Cutlery) knife because I liked the blade so much. The blade that came with the blade attachment was made of very cheap carbon steel that easily snapped into sharp shape. If I had purchased a different type of blade, I am not sure how good of a job Spyderco could have done. The blade was definitely the weak point of the knife.

I have seen some people throw the sword holster when they are done with the weapon. I think this is pretty cool because the blade attachment should always be ready for use. If you are looking for a really nice sword holster then I recommend checking out the Spyderco Sword Holster. It is a quality product that does a great job of keeping your blade safe.
