  • Nevada Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW): Gun Laws, Application, Requirements & Online Training

Nevada has a Shall-issue policy for CCW permits at the state county level.

So, the sheriff will accept your CCW application if you meet all the requirements provided by the gun laws.

However, if anyone above the age of eighteen sends the sheriff an affidavit with facts against your Nevada CCW permit application, it can be revoked.

Understanding all laws relating to concealed carry in Nevada can go a long way in keeping you safe.

Nevada Gun Laws

In Nevada, you can conceal carry with Concealed Firearm Permits issued by the state, or with a CCW from other states that have reciprocity with Nevada.

Nevada issues CCW permits to both residents of the state and non-residents. You must be at least twenty-one years old to apply for one if you are a civilian.

For military members, you must be of the minimum age of eighteen before you can apply for the state’s CCW permit.

You must also meet all the requirements stated by the laws of the state before you can conceal carry in the state.

Nevada CCW Reciprocity

Nevada has permit reciprocity with various other states in the country. If you have a permit from a state that Nevada reciprocates, and you meet other requirements, you can conceal carry in Nevada.

Other aspects of Nevada CCW permit reciprocity you should know include the following:

  • States that Nevada will honor their CCW permit: Nevada will accept a CCW permit issued by these states, as long as the holder meets the required age to conceal carry in Nevada, which is twenty-one years old. There are thirty of them.
  • States that will accept a Nevada CCW permit: These states will honor CCW permits that are issued by Nevada. So if you have either a resident or non-resident Nevada CCW permit, you can conceal carry within the territory of these states. There are eighteen of them.
  • States that have restricted reciprocity with Nevada: These states will only accept Nevada CCW permit for residents only, and you must also be of the required age. There are two of them.
  • States that have a permitless policy: In these states, you do not need a CCW permit to conceal carry. However, you must be familiar with the restrictions stated by their gun laws. There are fourteen of them.

Regardless of if Nevada has a reciprocity deal with a state or not, if you must conceal carry in the state, you have to understand the gun laws in terms of location restriction and how to handle your firearm.
