Buyer's Guide: Weapon Cases

Tips For Buying A Great Gun Case

Weapon Cases are designed to hold and protect your firearms. There are three basic types of weapon cases. The first type is the pistol case, which will hold your pistol without any additional accessories. The second type is the rifle case, and the last is the shotgun case.

pistol case: The most common type of weapon cases you'll find are the pistol cases. These come in a variety of sizes, designs, and materials. This type will generally accommodate either one, two, or three firearms. It's best to buy a case that is the correct size for your firearm. For example, a Remington Rifle should fit into a Remington pistol case, and a Smith & Wesson pistol should fit into a Smith & Wesson rifle case.

Rifles andifles require specific weapon cases. You will want a case that will hold at least eight pounds. Two to three pounds is best, but one pound is better. Remember that lighter rifles and lighter handguns are easier to conceal, and thus easier to steal, than heavier ones.

Each weapon should have its own individual container. You will want one to two inches thick padding inside the case, and a padded carrying handle. One to two inches thick padding inside the case is perfect. Do not put anything heavier in the weapons case or the padding will be destroyed. One to two inches thick padding inside the case is perfect.

When shipping cases, do not put anything heavier in them than the actual weapon. If possible, use shipping containers that are bulletproof or fireproof, even if it costs more. Your fragile weapons should be kept in shipping containers with as much cushion as possible.

Also make sure you keep the weapon inside a shipping container that has a lid. It is better to avoid using a regular household container, since they are sometimes flimsy and break easily. You should use a large non-porous plastic container that comes in several assorted sizes. These are available at most major retailers. Using a larger container helps to protect the fragile item from air exposure, dust, moisture, and any other potential harm that might damage a small rock.

If possible, ship your weapons in a large, heavy duty crate. These can be purchased online, or at a local retailer who sells crates. Do not use regular shipping boxes, since they are often too small. You should use shipping containers made specifically for sporting good items. These crates are made out of reinforced plastic and are much stronger and tougher than regular shipping boxes, making them nearly impossible to break open.

One very easy way to provide extra protection for your handgun is to mount a small wall mounted padlock or keypad directly on the front of your handgun. This will allow you to quickly insert and remove keys and passwords without having to take your handgun out of its holster. Another simple solution is to mount a padlock on your door handle or combination lock. Having a small keypad device attached to your handgun will give you the option to quickly enter secure codes without ever taking your handgun out of its holster.

If you use a semi-automatic pistol that shoots rubber rounds, you should look into purchasing a small soft target or training range target that you can place on your belt. These targets offer great range accuracy and are extremely durable. The rubber "towel" targets typically come in various sizes, ranging from two to eight yards. Some models can even shoot up to fifty yards, making them a very effective way to train your pistol skills.

If you decide that carrying around your handgun is a bit too much, you can get a drop down bag which mounts on the back of your waist. The drop down bag looks just like a normal shoulder bag and is easily concealed on your belt. Once again, you will need to make sure that your weapon is securely fastened when you are not using it. These bags have several pockets and compartments to keep all your shooting equipment organized. They typically offer three or four different levels of carry in order to accommodate both your pistol and other items that you want to use with it. A good set of drop down bag should be able to hold up to thirty or forty pounds.

In order to maximize your versatility while using your handgun, you may also want to purchase an excellent set of sheaths or gun cases. One popular type is the Phoenix Arms sheath. It is made from both leather and nylon, and offers a top strap for a more secure fit that will prevent it from falling open. The case also includes an ar-top pouch and a side pocket that is designed to hold one of your most important paperwork. It also has a large front zipper pocket, which can be used to store extra ammunition or other items that are too large for the small slots and zippers on the sheath.
